To say the least, the 2008 election cycle is a far cry from normal. We have the option of selecting a President who is part African and part American (which is not to be confused with this Nation's notion of a modern day African-American). We have the option of selecting a Vice-President who is both Alaskan and female. We have the option of selecting a fresh crop of Congressional members for the 111th Congress while simultaneously retiring the sad lot of the 110th Congress that presently musters a 9% approval rating amongst Americans.
